How would you define, in just one word, the secret for a company to work? Thought? If you think the secret is people, you are right.
On January 27, 2022, Safeway received the Great Place to Work (GPTW), which certifies that the company is a great place to work.
The certification was granted by the GPTW® Institute, which requires the application of a questionnaire on the organizational climate for employees. Through the answers obtained, the level of satisfaction with the company is identified, which only receives certification if it reaches a score equal to or greater than 70.
“A good place to work is one where people are proud to be and give their best for a greater goal, which is built daily. This occurs through relationships, in addition to the committed and competent way in which everyone carries out their work. We are sure that with a strong and engaged team we will achieve all our goals”, celebrates Antonieta Brito, Safeway Adm coordinator.
She explains that the group has grown a lot in recent years and, at some point, the management identified the need to pay even more attention to the organizational climate. Since then, Safeway has been working to be an increasingly pleasant environment for everyone.
Far beyond specific actions
In a collaborative action with employees, the organization put together a plan to introduce policies and actions that would make the company a great place to work.
In addition to benefits and agreements, Safeway invests in the employee's professional career by encouraging them to carry out training and certifications that add to their professional development.
There was also the opening of a new work and social space that brought employees a new kitchen and a “decompression room” with television, puffs and books.
Celebrating achievements
No achievement goes unnoticed at Safeway, monthly celebrations (Happy Hour) for integration, celebration and recognition of employees' corporate and personal achievements are no longer today.
The certificate GPTW it comes as a confirmation that these actions were worth it, but not as a full stop. The initiatives do not stop there, as ensuring a good working environment for everyone is an objective of continuous effort.
